good you´re pointing this out, the "hippie movement" may be was genuine when it first started, but soon after was infiltrated by illuminati so to call it or CIA agencies to introduce LSD on people´s minds, LSD was used in the MK Ultra experimenting which is still going today within many different industries, I´m afraid but most of the 60´s hippie movement and concerts were, to make it short, also mind control experiments on the crowds

Many festivals were only created to introduce psychedelic stuff on the crowds, in Spain and sure England and other countries, during the 80´s many new musicians and bands came out, in Spain was called "La Movida", which was created by the illuminati or PTB to introduce heroin in the market, ´lot of people died because of it
